Simply put a supplement is more ($) money than originally estimated. There are two main reasons for this;
- Hidden Damage; During a preliminary estimate not all damage is visible to write.
- Part Price Increase.
Due to instability in dealer pricing and computer estimate database updating, there are differences in part prices. However, this is a perfecty normal procedure within the insurance companies and collision repair shops. It does tend to create some delays, and at times unreliablity in some cases. Part availablity and turnaround on parts required for repair, dictates whether a particular vehicle will process on time or unfortunately, in rare instances substantial delay. The Estimator should keep you informed of repairs, and notify you of any changes.
